What to expect from virtual psychiatric care.
Telehealth can make psychiatric care more accessible and consistent, but it has limits. Before the first telehealth service, Clarity Psychiatry will obtain and document informed consent as required.
At check-in
Confirm that you are physically located in Arizona and provide the location from which you are joining. Use a private space and a device with stable internet, camera, microphone, and sufficient battery.
During the visit
Video supports the assessment. If technology fails, the clinician may attempt to reconnect, contact you through the agreed backup method, reschedule, or direct you to in-person care when needed.
Telehealth consent includes
Benefits, limitations, choices, and safety planning.
Nature of telehealth. Care occurs using electronic communications rather than sharing the same physical room.
Potential benefits. Convenience, reduced travel, and continuity of care.
Potential risks. Technology failure, interruptions, limits of remote examination, and privacy/security risks inherent in electronic communication.
Alternatives. In-person evaluation or another level of care may be recommended when clinically appropriate or required.
Voluntary participation. You may ask questions and may withdraw consent to telehealth, understanding that this may affect whether Clarity Psychiatry can continue providing care in a telehealth-only model.
Emergency limitations. The practice is not an emergency service. Your current location and an emergency contact may be used when urgent intervention is reasonably necessary.
Prescribing. Medication prescribing — including controlled medications — depends on clinical indication, identity and location verification, monitoring, current law, and professional judgment. No medication is guaranteed.
Privacy & technology
Clinical information belongs in the secure clinical platform.
Scheduling, intake forms, consent, payment, secure messaging, records, and telehealth are handled through the designated clinical platform. Avoid sending diagnoses, symptoms, medication details, records, or other protected health information through ordinary email or public website forms.
Clarity Psychiatry uses safeguards intended to support applicable privacy and security requirements. No electronic system can be guaranteed to eliminate every privacy or cybersecurity risk.
